Return of Materials

ALL library materials including DVDs and audiobooks should be returned through the book returns. Please do not attempt to hand materials to staff members.

Returned items will be placed in quarantine and will not be checked in immediately. This process will take up to 2 weeks to clear items from your account.

Fines and overdues will be suspended during this time.

NOTE: WE CANNOT ACCEPT MATERIALS DONATIONS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE MATERIALS FOR DONATION OUTSIDE THE LIBRARIES OR THE BOOK RETURNS.

How curbside works

Reserve books and other materials by placing holds online, by email or telephone. We will notify you when those items become available. Drive to your selected library during curbside pickup hours – please do not arrive during non-pickup hours - and park in the designated parking spots. Call us when you arrive and we will bring your items out and place them on the hood or in the trunk of your car. You must remain in your car during delivery.

Please remember:

• No more than 5 items per patron per day for pickup.

• If you have items to return, place them in the book return then return to your car – you must remain in your car for delivery.

• If you do not have a vehicle, after you have notified us you have arrived you must wait in the designated waiting area. Your items will be placed in the designated pickup area. Please wait for staff to return to the building before retrieving your items.

• If you do not have a cellphone, you may use the intercom at the door of the library to let us know you have arrived and then return to your car or the designated waiting area.

• Maintain at least 6 feet of social distance between you and any other patrons or staff at all times.

What safety measures are being taken to protect the public and staff?

We are using social distancing and public health recommendations for employees and patrons. Staff are wearing masks, washing hands frequently and sanitizing workstations. All materials returned will be quarantined for a period of time before being released for other patrons to borrow. All re-opening plans adhere to recommended public health guidelines including contactless curbside service. We also continue to offer online resources including e-books and e-audio books.

When will I be able to come IN the library?

Our buildings remain closed to the public as we are limited by the number of people allowed in the buildings. At this time we are unable to open our libraries for meetings, programs, computer use, or printing/copying/faxing. We are working to restore all library services and access as soon as possible in a safe, coordinated and phased effort. We will continue to follow state and public health guidelines for operations. Please continue to watch our website and Facebook page for updates and additional services.
