Mississippi Libraries Team Up For Reading with the Mississippi Braves

Madison County Library System and Central Mississippi Regional Library System are partnering with the Mississippi Braves for the Team Up For Reading Program which fosters youth literacy and a love of reading. The program brings together two of America’s favorite pastimes - baseball and libraries and encourages children and young adults between the ages of 9 and 18 to go to their library, check out a book and get a FREE ticket to a Mississippi Braves game!

Beginning July 6, MCLS will give away 500 tickets divided among the 5 branches. These open date tickets may be used for any home game during the 2021 baseball season. The first 25 patrons to pick up tickets at each branch may enter to win a chance to throw out the first pitch at a home game and one lucky child will win an M-Braves Birthday Party! The birthday party includes (10) tickets to the M-Braves games of your choice and a hotdog, chips, soda, ice cream, and a hat for each guest. It also includes a special birthday gift for the guest of honor. Stop by your branch to enter for a chance to win. Winners will be drawn on July 16.

Library Night at Trustmark Park is on August 28. This home game will have fireworks afterward. Patrons may show their library card for a $3 entry to the game. There will be tables set up with library info and give-a-ways. The first 25 patrons who show their library card or register for a card will receive a Team up for Reading T-Shirt*(Teen and Adults)!
